Recently, cPanel changed the interface and the way in which the free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate is installed. In this article, I will show you how to install and renew the free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate using the new cPanel interface and wizard as offered by Jubilee Hosting Services for all Shared and Linux Hosting packages.
If you are still using the old cPanel Interface, check out our article on how to install the free SSL Certificate via AutoSSL.
By default, our free SSL certificate will automatically install on your hosting account upon activation and renew automatically every 3 months.
However, in the event that the installation has not occurred automatically for some reason, you can manually install or renew our free SSL Certificate using the following steps:
- Within your cPanel, scroll down to the Security section and click SSL/TLS Certificates.
- On the resulting page, select the Wizard, select the domains and sub-domains for which you would like to have the SSL, and click Continue.
- Next, click the Let's Encrypt Certificate button, and wait until the issuance and installation are complete.
- When the installation is complete, each successfully secured domain and sub-domain will have a green padlock against it.
At this stage, you should be able to see whether the SSL was installed successfully or not.
In the event that the SSL installation fails, kindly navigate to the Certificates tab and delete any expired, active and self-signed certificates for that domain, wait for 3 - 5 minutes and retry the installation procedures above.
Important to Note:
- The installation will only succeed if your domain is active, and pointing and resolving to our servers.
- If your domain is pointing to servers outside our network, please switch the nameservers to those associated with our servers, wait for 5-10 minutes, and then retry.
- If you just bought the domain or just changed to our nameservers, it can be possible that it has not yet fully propagated. Kindly wait for 10-60 minutes before retrying.
If the installation fails for up to two hours, kindly contact us and we shall be glad to help.
Now you know how to install the free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate using the new cPanel Interface.
